Portland, OR (KPTV) — Someone not only stole from a baby, but two newborn babies. While Nichole and Justin Redfearn were welcoming their twin baby girls into the world, someone was breaking into their SUV at Oregon Health and Science University.

The pregnancy was a difficult one, causing the new parents to travel back and forth from the coast to OHSU for treatment.

The proud parents are happy to be back home in Lincoln City with their daughters, but they’re still shocked by what happened Friday night at the hospital.

Justin Redfearn went out to his SUV to find someone had broken in and stolen not only his wallet, but their baby supplies, including car seats and even a breast pump.

“Who steals baby stuff out of someone’s car at a hospital where babies are being born?” Nichole Redfearn said. “To me, that’s what bothers me. That’s what made me sick.”

The couple estimated their losses to be around $900.

“We just got done having our twins so it was like the most joyous moment of our life just got taken from us,” said Nichole Redfearn. “Now we were like, how are we going to get our babies home? We have no money, we have no car seats.”

A family friend wired them the money they needed to get their babies back home. Now, they just hope the thief gets caught.

“I hope karma comes for you, that’s what I would say. I really do, I hope karma comes for you,” Nichole Redfearn said.
