WELLINGTON, FL - A Florida landscaper is sentenced to three years’ probation and one year in Palm Beach County Jail, after pleading guilty to nine counts of felony cruelty to animals.

Back in early May, Jason Falbo was operating a lawnmower where he intentionally mowed over nine ducklings.

According to the Sun Sentinel, Falbo said, “They were in my path so I just kept mowing."

Nearby homeowner Boyd Jentzsch witnessed the act and contacted authorities. Jentzch and his family had left food out for the ducks and reported that after mowing over several ducks, Falbo smiled and aimed his lawnmower at the remaining ducklings.

This was Falbo’s first day on the job.

Following his year in jail, Falbo will receive random visits from animal control officers to make sure he does not own "any animals of any kind" and that he is not living with anyone who has pets.
