(KTVI) – It took 83 years for one letter to reach its destination in Pittsfield, Maine, a town in Somerset County.  Ann MacMichael recieved a letter from her aunt last week that the sender wrote in 1931.

MacMichael says her aunt was trying to reach her mother— Macmichael’s grandmother.

The first part of the letter is ironic as it reads “I’m sorry I haven’t written sooner.” She plans to send the letter to her cousin who is the sender’s son.  He lives in Massachusetts. She hopes that it will get there on time!
