ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) – A local urban explorer’s video of the abandoned Jamestown Mall is going viral.
YouTube user “BackyardExploration” took a creepy trip into the shopping center that closed in July of last year.
The cameraman uses his flashlight and whispers a description of what he sees in a hushed play-by-play. The video shows broken glass everywhere, plants taking over and merchandise that wasn’t sold filling store aisles. The images in the video look like something out of a horror film.
The videographer takes a tour of many of the mall’s former attractions and areas off-limits to the public. He tours the movie theatre, store back-rooms and corridors. He finds leaking ceilings, moldy walls and a lot of unclaimed pictures. At one point he finds some one’s bed and says, “Looks like someone lives in here.”
The video was posted in December. It it not clear when the footage was captured.
The YouTube channel’s description states, “Exploring a certain StL mall upon popular request. The power is still on here and it is alarmed. DO NOT attempt to trespass here; you will be caught and charged.”
