Truck driver in I-44 accident looking for missing dog

Update:  The dog has been found.

UNION, MO (KTVI) – Franklin County police say that one of the truck drivers involved in the crash on I-44 near Union is missing a dog. The driver is asking people to contact the Humane Society in Union if they find a German Shepard.

The missing dog’s name is Bear. Danielle Nicole Willyard posted to Facebook:

Please share share share. The wreck on 44 today one of the drivers had his dog that was with him run away. It’s a German Sheppard named bear. If you find him he’s chipped please take him to the Franklin County human society. Share please!

A collision involving three tractor trailers closed Interstate 44 in both directions Thursday afternoon, the Missouri State Highway Patrol said.

According to Sgt. Al Nothum, a spokesman for the MSHP, the accident occurred at 12:45 p.m. near the Highway 50 exit in eastbound lanes of I-44 in Franklin County. Black smoke could be seen billowing from the scene for miles.
