EUREKA, MO (KTVI) – A Eureka family spent the night in a hotel after a pick-up truck crashed into their mobile home.
The accident happened around 9pm on Monday on Jim Weber Road. The man who lived there said he and his family were watching TV when he heard tires squealing and went to see what was going on.
“Soon as I reached for the doorknob the house felt like it imploded, and it throwed me against the wall on the other side of the room. And then I realized the truck didn’t make the corner, and hit the house.” said resident Mark Allen.
Four young men ran from the truck into the woods. Police later arrested the driver.
Firefighters say the trailer was moved off its foundation by five feet and was un-livable.
Allen says his street has a lot of accidents because drivers do not follow the 30 mile per hour speed limit.
