Two charged with stealing from Union band boosters

UNION, MO (KTVI)- A Union couple is charged with stealing more than $23,000 in cash and script cards from the Union Wildcat Band Boosters while serving as officers for the group.

According to The Missourian, Betty R. Anderson, 34, and Terry J. Anderson, 39, are charged in Franklin County Associate Circuit Court with felony stealing. Union Police say the thefts occurred between July and December 2014. Officers from the band boosters’ board of directors became suspicious after a check bounced from a script program account managed by the suspects.

Police said the couple stole over $2,500 in proceeds from the kitchen during the Union Middle School craft show, and there were checks written from band boosters accounts by both suspects.

The suspects surrendered Thursday and were released on bond after being booked at the Franklin County jail.
