MARYLAND HEIGHTS, MO (KTVI)-- A police chase that began in Lake St. Louis has ended in Maryland Heights.

St. Louis County police say this began as a shoplifting incident at the Sports Authority in Lake St. Louis.

Police had a description of the vehicle with three women inside. Police tried to pull the suspect vehicle over and the car rammed into a police car. That’s when the police chase began.

The suspect vehicle eventually crashed in Maryland Heights, near Page and Lackland. Two women were arrested at the scene, the 17-year-old driver and a 18-year-old.

A third female, 20-years-old got away on foot. Police believe she may have hopped on a Metro bus. Police have been pulling over Metro buses looking for the suspect, but have had no luck.

Police intend to apply for charges of Assault first degree on a Police Officer on the driver.
