BROOKLYN, IL (KTVI) – Law enforcement authorities from St. Clair County and the Illinois State Police raided the offices of the Village of Brooklyn Illinois Wednesday afternoon. Officer spent several hours hauling out documents, and other items from the building that houses the village administrative office, fire and police departments.
St. Clair County State’s Attorney Brendan Kelly says the raid was in response to a former Brooklyn Police Department detectives actions. Brendan said the detective took a AR-15 rifle from an evidence locker, took a picture with the weapon, which was used in a calendar. Brendan added, that detectives actions were not proper and that he will not prosecute any cases that involved the detective.
