Violent crash following police pursuit in O’Fallon, Missouri

O'FALLON, MO (KTVI) - St. Charles County Police Department said it will pursue felony charges against the driver responsible for a violent crash that took place in a residential neighborhood late Friday night.

The crash occurred just after 9 p.m. at the intersection of Bryan Road and Osage Meadows Drive. A police officer was traveling southbound on Bryan when a vehicle quickly came up behind the officer and nearly struck the officer's car.

The officer began to chase after the speeding offender, but he was quickly called off the pursuit.

The officer eventually got to the intersection and saw two vehicles had been involved in an accident. A white car had crashed against a home, it's rear end damaged. A red truck smashed through a wooden fence and sustained heavy damage to what appeared to be the passenger side.

Police would not say which vehicle was the on that sped by the officer.

Investigators said there were critical injuries involved in the incident but offered no additional specifics.
