ST. LOUIS, MO. (KTVI) – Voters will cast their ballots for or against Proposition B on Nov. 6. The measure would result in a tax increase on many tobacco products in Missouri.
Some products would have a $0.90 tax.
Much of the revenue would be used for education.
We spoke with smokers and non-smokers about the issue.
“I already pay three bucks for smokes and anymore would be tough,”
Bryan Mixon said.
“I do not smoke so I don’t care if they charge ten dollars,” Rodney Standard said.
The state auditor’s office said the measure would create at least $283 million annually.
