While we're enjoying the winter weather this season it's not so good for the roads, more potholes are showing up.
We've had plenty of fluctuation in temperatures this winter and that's causing potholes to pop up for drivers on the roads a lot earlier than expected.
Kristina Scott who says she loves her 2002 Mazda Tribute. She spent lots of time and money fixing it up. She was driving down West Florissant near Lucas Hunt in Jennings when she hit a pothole that caused one of her 22 inch custom tires to blow. Not only is she recovering from a house fire, now she says spending the money on a new tire because a pothole is not how she wanted to start her weekend. Now she has to come up with $200 to replace it.
She's also planning to submit a damage claim to St. Louis County.
Last year St. Louis County says they handled 23 claims and had 3 new ones this week. As for St. Louis city we're told they've seen such minimal activity on pothole issues, their contractor shut down their asphalt station for lack of use. If you plan to submit a claim you should put it in writing and add pictures, estimates and details.
