ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) - The Clayton Police Chief Kevin says no Washington University students are involved in Wednesday's shooting.

He says their investigation is showing this was not a random incident; it may have been an act of road rage.

Clayton Police are investigating along with Washington University police.

They say a man driving a black SUV fired the shots at a silver vehicle and took off traveling east on Forsyth toward Skinker.

Right now they are working on reviewing surveillance video from the area in hopes it'll provide more information as to what lead up to the shooting and a possible suspect.

Here's what Chief Murphy told us when asked if there would be extra patrols in the area tonight.

Clayton Police Chief, Kevin Murphy: "We are doing what we always do we are ensuring the safety and security of our citizens and whatever that requires we will be sure to do that."

Police are asking that if anyone has information in this incident, call them at 314-290-8425.
