ST. LOUIS – Washington University cancels its spring graduation ceremonies scheduled for May 15 because of the coronavirus outbreak.

Chancellor Andrew D. Martin said the health and well-being of the Washington University community is their highest priority.

Administrators had earlier announced that all courses are shifting to online instruction following an extended spring break, which will continue until March 23.

The school may give information later about a future celebration.
