KIRKWOOD, MO (KTVI) - Possible traffic headaches waited for drivers on Big Bend while crews work on a new water-main section in Kirkwood.

The affected stretch of road was less than a quarter mile long.  But, Big Bend is a major feeder road to Interstate 270.  So, the City of Kirkwood announced major lane closures on Big Bend starting Thursday at 8 a.m.  The lanes would reopen at 3:30 p.m.  That schedule would repeat for the rest of the week.

1.     Two westbound lanes on Big Bend would shut down near Marjean Court.
2.    One eastbound lane would carry westbound traffic.
3.    The closures would stretch from Kirkwood Fire House #2 to Marshall Rd.

ADB Utilities was scheduled to install a new water main under those lanes.
