CHESTERFIELD, MO (KTVI) – A man had to be pulled from a tree Saturday evening after being trapped by heavy rain and flooding, the Monarch Fire Protection District said.

The incident occurred on Wild Horse Creek Road in Chesterfield.

Authorities said a man and a child were swept away by floodwaters. The man managed to get to a tree and seek refuge. However, authorities were initially concerned that the child had gone missing. Those fears were allayed after the child was located at a nearby home, in good condition.
