Water Service To Be Restored To Glen Carbon Friday Morning

GLEN CARBON, IL (KTVI) - A leak in a water main in Glen Carbon has been located. Officials say that water service should be restored at about 8:00 am on Friday.

The original break happened about 10:30 Tuesday night. Since the break happened underground crews have been having trouble finding the leak.

About half the town has some sort of water service, but all of Glen Carbon remains under a boil water advisory.

Residents can still pick up water at the Village Hall from 6-9pm. Photo ID and a utility bill are required. Only one case of drinking water will be provided for each visit. Bring separate containers for non-consumable water for filling toilets etc.
