ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) – Seventy-three-years ago Amelia Earhart vanished… and now she’s flying again!
Amelia Rose Earhart, 31, is on a mission to become the youngest woman to fly a single- engine airplane around the world. Her journey is set to last a little more than 2 weeks. Earhart started flying over a decade ago has been a licensed pilot since 2010.
The former weather and traffic reporter is of no relation to her namesake. This is a very exciting mission and thanks to new technology, she’s been keeping her fans posted via Twitter.
On July 2, 1937, Amelia Mary Earhart, 39, disappeared along with Fred Noonan, (her navigator), somewhere over the Pacific Ocean. She wanted to become the first woman to fly around the globe.
