(KTVI)- A longtime fixture on network television news who hails from the St. Louis area will be leaving his TV home as of Friday, according to the industry blog TV Newser. Bob Dotson, who grew up in Webster Groves, has been a fixture on NBC’s Today, focusing on features for an ongoing “American Story” segment.

TV Newser obtained a letter Dotson sent to his network colleagues announcing the move.”While most correspondents focused on life’s flat tires,” he wrote that he “looked for something far more difficult to find – what kept the other tires rolling.”
“It’s tough to leave a place so filled with memories and friends, but those friendships were never tied to the office. I’ll take them with me,” Dotson wrote.
