WENTZVILLE, MO (KTVI)-- Off-duty firefighters were knee-deep in snow. They volunteered to shovel snow from 64 homes.

Wentzville firefighters didn't fight a blaze Monday morning.  They fought snow for neighbors who were elderly or who had mobility problems.

Firefighter Angel Rubio says the effort also helped the firefighters who need a clear path to the front door during emergencies.
