Westbound I-70 closed in north St. Louis following carjacking, crash

ST. LOUIS – The westbound lanes of Interstate 70 were closed late Friday afternoon heading into the weekend following a police pursuit and crash.

According to police, a carjacking in the Central West End led to the pursuit. The accident occurred at I-70 just beyond Shreve Avenue.

Police said three juveniles were in the car that was carjacked. They were all taken to the hospital in critical condition.

Police said the suspects may be connected to other carjackings. They are still investigating.
