Westbound I-70 shuts down at Lucas and Hunt during rush hour after shots fired

ST. LOUIS COUNTY, Mo. – St. Louis County police responded to calls of shots being fired along Interstate 70 during the afternoon rush hour Wednesday.

According to Sgt. Benjamin Granda, a police spokesman, the shots were fired on I-70 near Lucas and Hunt Road.

Police have not found a shooting victim. It’s unclear if anyone was targeted. No injuries were reported.

The westbound lanes of I-70 were closed as police continued to investigate.

Commuters were forced to exit at Goodfellow but allowed to re-enter I-70 westbound at Lucas and Hunt.

Westbound I-70 was reopened to traffic around 8:20 p.m.
