MARYLAND HEIGHTS, MO (KTVI)-- For the longest time, it felt like winter just didn't want to let go. But now we are just over a week from the start of the pool season.
It was a long cold, wet spring; in fact we started the week with near record lows and then flipped to a record high all within 48 hours. The crazy temperatures have come along with lots and lots of rain.
No surprise then that it's been tough for area pools like Aquaport in Maryland Heights. They have been cleaning, painting and now filling their pools, water slides and lazy river, all in an effort to get back on track.
Midwest Pools Bert Ford say their company manages 60 of the area’s biggest swim complexes and she said that this spring has been especially tough for them and is really putting pressure to get all of their customers open on time.
However, Ford said despite the tough weather, they are on track to get their clients’ pools open, at the Aquaport that means next Saturday, the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend. Let’s hope it's nice and warm.
