GRANBY, Mo.–A southwest Missouri sheriff says a 65-year-old woman shot and killed a man who was trying to end their affair.

Authorities say Connie Sanders-Ford, of Fairview, was charged Monday with first-degree murder and armed criminal action in the death of 58-year-old John Jordon. He was found dead Monday at his home in Granby.

Newton County Sheriff Ken Copeland says Jordon, who was married, was having an affair with Sanders-Ford but had told her it was over.

The Joplin Globe reports Copeland says authorities found out about the shooting when a Neosho couple reported that Sanders-Ford came to their house and said she shot Jordon. She was arrested at the couple’s home.

Online court records do not show that Sanders-Ford has an attorney.
