ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) – A woman was attacked inside her own south St. Louis garage and her car was stolen. Now she’s talking about how she was beaten and carjacked. She parked her car at home where she assumed she was safe.

“The man instantly told me to give him everything I had and hit me in the face. I told them to take everything and just go.” said the victim.

St. Louis city police say the 31-year-old woman had just exited her vehicle, inside her garage, when two men entered and pistol whipped her. They stole her purse and car at gunpoint. It happened around 9pm Wednesday night in the 5000 block of Mardel in south St. Louis.

“This is very disheartening. There are people in the world who think they can take anything by force.” said the victim’s boyfriend.

The victim had tried to lower her garage door, but turned around to see it going back up. She was struck in the face with the hand gun by one of the men.

After striking her with the gun the men took her Toyota and took off.

The victim’s boyfriend says it could have been worse. She’s lucky there was no loss of life. He will continue to cherish every hug he and his girlfriend still have each other.

“I thought I was going to get shot in the head. My mom was on the phone and I thought she was going to hear me die. I really want people to be aware of their surroundings.” said the victim.

The victim says they have decided to move and will not spend another night in their home. Anyone with information about the carjacking is urged to call St. Louis city police .
