Woman pistol whipped, carjacked while shopping in Central West End

ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) - Police are investigating after a woman, with three children, was carjacked and pistol whipped on a grocery store parking lot in the Central West End.

It happened around 1 a.m. at Schnucks located in the 4100 block of Lindell Boulevard. The victim was waiting on her husband to finish shopping when she was robbed, assaulted with a pistol and carjacked.

The family was traveling through St. Louis on their way to Detroit.

Police say two suspects, one armed with a gun, approached the woman and demanded she and children exit the vehicle. The female suspect stole the car and the male suspect drove off in a light colored sedan.

The woman was treated at the scene for scrapes and bruises she received as she was dragged during the assault. Her children were not injured.

The stolen car is a black Chrysler 200 with a Tennessee license plate of V7268W.
