ST. LOUIS COUNTY, MO (KTVI)-Like the sign out front says, Walgreens was open on Thanksgiving Day.

And it was business as usual at QuikTrip. Steak and Shake was taking no holiday from serving up steakburgers. At Jack In The Box on Page, the drive-thru is always open. And the dining room was also open this Thanksgiving Day. Manager Tonya Gregory said business is actually better than a typical Thursday.

"The ones that are here, we're happy to be here," Gregory said. "I mean, it's a job. And everybody needs a job. I'm thankful to be here. You gotta have money. If you don't make make money, you don't make no sense, right?"

Assistant Manager Derrick Sharp said, if you work in restaurants you gotta be prepared to work any days, any hours. As for his own holiday plans?

"My wife, my kids, my grandkids, they're all at my house now," Sharp said. "They're enjoying Thanksgiving dinner, turkey, ham, all the trimmings. I hope someone decides to put me a plate to the side, and my in-laws don't show up and everything," he laughed.

At Bucky's Express, everyone has to work the holiday, at least for a little while. "We just had to put in four hours. Not bad at all. I'm enjoying my holiday being here as well as at home with my family."
