NORTH ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI)-A man who had tried to rob a woman of her purse fired shots at her as she ran away overnight. The 35 year old victim was walking in the 3300 block of Dr. Martin Luther King early Saturday, about 12:50am, when a man crossed the street and attempted to take her purse. During the struggle, the suspect reached in his waistband and pulled out a handgun. As the suspect pulled the gun, the victim was able to break away.
As she ran away, the suspect fired two shots at her. She was not injured and ran to a house to call St. Louis police.
The suspect is described as a black male, about 5’8 or 5’9, 120-130lbs, with a slim build and brown complexion. He was wearing a red and blue collared shirt and blue jeans.
The investigation is ongoing.
