FORISTEL, MO (KTVI) – When it comes to service with a smile, Kyle Winfrey is the queen.

Monday she got a surprise coronation of sorts.

'There are 26,000 employees, 506 stores and they chose one outstanding crewperson of the year,' says McDonald`s Foristell owner Joan Elhoffer.

That person for the heartland region, made up of eight states, is a high school senior from Wright City.

'Were you surprised?' asks Patrick Clark.

'Very,' says Kyle Winfrey.  'I think I`m still overwhelmed.  There are a lot of people here.'

'To have someone that always greets people with a smile, says hello to them and is a pleasant experience is one in a million and we`re lucky to have her here in St. Louis,' says Ronald McDonald, famous spokesperson.

When she's not attending classes, the Foristell McDonalds is home to this top teenager who is also the captain of her basketball team, a national honors society and student council member.

'I am very proud of her,' says Valerie Foust, Winfrey`s mom.  'She`s been a blessing to us and all of our other children.'

She never says no or bats an eye or sighs or has a problem with anything.

'Kyle just had exceptional good comments from customers who dial in on the 800 number or just from voice,' says Elhoffer.

Store owner Joan Elhoffer had a hand in Winfrey's nomination and a wristband to add to her cheery disposition.

'They all say `Nice` and we do this cause we want to remind each other that if we`re not being nice we can just tap on the bracelet,' says Elhoffer.

'I try to be,' says Winfrey.  'I try to be nice to everybody and make sure everybody is having a good day because I want to have a good day all the time and be really happy.  So I think other people should.'

As a famous spokesperson will tell you, with a positive attitude you can presto chang-o your outlook on life.

'Open your hand,' says McDonald demonstrating a magic trick.  'I think he joins his hand.  It`s McMagical.'

Winfrey will take home seven hundred dollars for her good deeds, using the golden rule...under the golden arches.
