ST. CHARLES COUNTY, MO (KTVI) – Francis Howell School Board President Mark Lafata has been giving the You Paid For It Team the slip for months. He has turned down interview requests from Elliott Davis to talk about a financial crisis that has forced the school District to cut $8 million from the budget this year, and $11 million in 2017 without more help from taxpayers.
Voters turned down the school districts last tax hike proposal. Many blame the Board for giving big pay raises to administrators and teachers that cost the district $13 million dollars.
Some of those who helped defeat the tax proposal says Lafata’s leadership is part of the problem and many are calling on him to step down.
FOX 2’s Elliott Davis finally caught up with Lafata. He asks whether it’s time for him to step down as board president.
