(KTVI)-- You Paid For It investigates a costly consultant hired for advising by Central County Emergency 911. Central County 911 handles 911 calls for St Louis County.

Its Board of Directors has representatives from each of the West County Fire Protection District. But the consultants deal caused a crisis on the board that caused half of them to boycott the meetings.

Board member Tim Flora says he thought there was a cap on the consultant of $9,600but by the time he checked the monthly record he learned taxpayers had shelled out nearly $92,000 for the consultant.

When board members in favor would not budge, Flora and others decided on the boycott.

The Chair of the Board Cathy Keeler says she liked the consultant. She admitted though that no one thought the bills would be this high.
