ST. LOUIS (KTVI) – I’ve had some unusual encounters with officials over the years trying to get answers about your tax dollars.

This encounter was so unusual we’re airing all of the confrontation that occurred when I went to talk to St. Louis Comptroller Darlene Green about her city take home car that cost taxpayers $26,000 and her spokesperson Melanie Streeper stepped in to break it up.

I had been turned down when I asked for a formal interview. Streeper sent me an email saying that Green wasn’t talking to any reporters about the issue.

When Streeper saw that I had caught up with Green anyway she sprung into action. To her credit Green tried to answer questions but even she had trouble talking over her own spokesperson.
