PINE LAWN, MO (KTVI) - The You Paid For It Team confronts Pine Lawn’s acting mayor about tow release fees. Pine Lawn is the city where the former Mayor Sylvester Caldwell pleaded guilty of taking payoffs from a tow company doing business with the city. Citizens had been calling on him to end the $50 tow release fee. Motorists whose car is towed has to pay the city this fee before they can go to the towing company and pay them hundreds of dollars to get their vehicle back.

Caldwell was sentenced to do time in federal prison. The new acting mayor refuses to say if she'll change the policy and eliminate the fee. She refused to comment on subject with Elliott Davis.
