Albert Pujols Agrees To Back Load Contract With Angels

According to a report by ESPN, Albert Pujols has agreed to take less money up front in that deal, so the angels could sign pitcher C.J. Wilson. According to that report, Pujols agreed to a backloaded contract that will pay him $12 million dollars a year next season and $16 million dollars in 2013.

Pujols made $16 million dollars during his final year with the cardinals. Pujols salary would then increase each year over the next 10 years, going past $30 million per season near the end of the contract.
