Cardinals split Doubleheader with Mets


The Cardinals and Mets played two games on Wednesday night at Busch Stadium with each team getting a win. After Tuesday night’s rain out, the clubs doubled up tonight.

The Cardinals won game one 4-1 thanks to home runs by Paul Goldschmidt and Paul DeJong. The victory raised the Cardinals winning streak to six games.

In Game two, the Mets got home runs from Tomas Nido and Jonathan Villar to beat the Cardinals 6-2.

The two teams finish their four game series on Thursday afternoon.
