Franklin returns, but Mizzou Falls at South Carolina 31-10

James Franklin returned to the Tigers lineup, but Mizzou fell hard at South Carolina suffering a 31-10 defeat to the Gamecocks.

Franklin completed 11 of 19 passes but for only 92 yards. Corbin Berkstresser came in to relieve Franklin in the fourth quarter and led the Tigers on their only TD drive late in the game. Berkstresser threw a touchdown pass to Marcus Lucas to make it a 31-10 game.

The game was scoreless after one quarter, then Connor Shaw and South Carolina blitzed Missouri for 21 second quarter points. Shaw, the gamecocks quarterback completed 20 straight passes in the game and threw two touchdown passes among those 20 completions. South Carolina running back Marcus Lattimore rand for two touchdowns in the win.

The loss drops the Tigers season record to 2-2 and 0-2 in the Southeastern Conference.
