ATLANTA, GA. (KTVI) –The Missouri Tigers lost to Auburn by a final score of 59 to 42 in the SEC Championship Game in Atlanta at the Georgia Dome. With the loss, Mizzou’s record falls to 11 and 2 and ends any thought at a National Championship.

The battle of Tigers turned into a shootout in the first half.  Mizzou only trailed 28-27 at the intermission despite an incredible rushing attack by Auburn.   Mizzou simply couldn’t stop Auburn on the ground in the first two quarters with Tre Mason picking up 194 of the 281 yards Auburn delivered in the rushing department.  Mizzou seemed to be sagging a bit late in the half, but a 55 yard TD throw from James Franklin to Dorial Green-Beckham provided a huge boost in the final minute of the first half setting the stage for a tense second half.

The second half was a repeat of the first half, with both teams battling for the championship, scoring over 90 points in the game, combine total yards over 1,000, and the leading rushers for both teams running over 400 yards.

Sports reporter Charlie Marlow is in Atlanta for SEC Championship Game covering the Mizzou Tigers, and Auburn Tigers match-up;  capturing the games back and forth scoring, the emotional ride of the teams, fans and summary of the game.
