FLORHAM PARK, NJ (AP) – New York Jets defensive tackle Sheldon Richardson stands by his strong criticisms regarding the Michael Brown case in Ferguson, Missouri, including referring to police officer Darren Wilson as a “pig” on Twitter and in a published interview.

Richardson, the AP Defensive Rookie of the Year last season, is from the St. Louis area, less than 10 minutes from Ferguson. Last week, Wilson was not indicted by a grand jury in the shooting death of Brown on Aug. 9.

Richardson says Thursday that his opinion of the case involving the kiling of is “not a black or white thing,” but adds that “a guy got murdered and a guy got off for it.”

Richardson says he supports five Rams players who made the “Hands up. Don’t Shoot!” gesture before a game.

Before Ezekiel Elliott, Sheldon Richardson and Jeremy Maclin became Ohio State Buckeyes and Missouri Tigers and NFL first-round draft picks, they went to John Burroughs, Gateway Tech and Kirkwood. All of them were featured in the FOX2 Prep Zone before they went off to the SEC, Big 12, Big Ten and beyond.
