Local pitcher wins Big League debut


Red Sox pitcher and Collinsville native Tanner Houck pitched five shutout innings in his Major league debut and got the win in the club’s 2-0 shutout over the Marlins in Miami on Tuesday night. Houck’s family watched the game here in area and cheered on Tanner is his first big league start. Houck pitched in college at Missouri and was a first round draft pick of the Red Sox. Fox 2 Sports reporter Charlie Marlow was there for the family’s reaction.
