Both the Chaminade boys basketball team and the Kirkwood girls basketball team won their Missouri Class 5 Semi-Final games on Thursday night at Mizzou Arena in Columbia, MO. Chaminade beat conference rival SLUH, 75-49. Jayson Tatum led the way with 28 points. During the game, Tatum became Chaminade’s all time leading scorer, passing current NBA star Bradley Beal’s scoring record. Chaminade will play Springfield Kickapoo on Saturday for the Class 5 Championship.
The Kirkwood girls team is headed to its first state championship in school history. They knocked off Francis Howell in one of the Class 5 Semi-Finals, 66-55, also at Mizzou Arena. The Lady Pioneers will also play Springfield Kickapoo on Saturday for the Class 5 crown.
