COLUMBIA, MO (KTVI) - On March 14, it was all St. Louis during the Missouri State High School Activities Association (MSHSAA) Class 5 boys basketball playoffs. But on March 20, both St. Louis teams fell during their semi-final games, which means there will be no St. Louis representative in the state final game. A first since 2004.

Heavily favored Chaminade College Preparatory School took on Park Hill South and at first, things were going Chaminade's way. The Red Devils had a strong first half and went into the locker rooms at half with an 11-point lead. But in the second half, Park Hill found a way to step up their defense and deflate the Chaminade offense, which was enough to give them a 53-50 win.

Saint Louis University High School's offense was also restrained against a Blue Springs South defense. SLUH was only able to shoot 29 percent from the field. Blue Springs South handed the Jr. Bills a 61-52 loss and will play Park Hill South today in the state final game.

In the Class 4 state playoffs however, St. Louis will be represented by St. Charles, who is seeking their first state title since 1957. They rolled over Bonivar High School 73-49.

Incarnate Word Academy came into their state semi-final game riding a 26-game winning streak. After a 23-point defeat of Bolivar, Incarnate has made it a 27-game winning streak as they head to the state final game to take on MICDS.

Like Incarnate Word, MICDS also doled out a heavy-handed defeat by dusting off Hillcrest High School by 30 points in their semi-final game.

In the Class 5 bracket, Cor Jesu Academy took on Rock Bridge. Cor Jesu, who was in the final four for the second time in three seasons, was unable to hold off Rock Bridge and fell 52-41.

In a final second win against Parkway North, Liberty High School missed a game-tying free throw. But they recovered their own rebound and put it up for the game winning field goal before the buzzer, giving them the one-point win. Liberty will now face Rock Bridge in the final game.

Illinois Boys Playoffs

Althoff Catholic High School beat the two-time state champions Morgan Park High School 82-74 and will head to the state final to take on St. Joseph's, the Chicago-area high school known for producing NBA talent like Isiah Thomas and Evan Turner.
