Avalanche Beat Blues 2-1 in Shootout

The Blues led for 59 minutes of their game on Friday night in Colorado against the Avalanche, but lost 2-1 in a shootout. Alexander Steen’s second period goal gave the Blues a 1-0 lead and Brian Elliott was stopping every Avs shot. But with 53 seconds to go in the game, Nathan MacKinnon scored the game tying goal. After a scoreless five minute overtime, The Avalanche won the three round shootout 1-0. Gabriel Landeskog scored the only goal of the shootout and their goalie, Semyon Varlamov stopped all three Blues shots in the shootout to insure the come from behind win.
