The Blues were dealing on Saturday, acquiring defenseman Jordan Leopold from the Buffalo Sabres for draft picks. St. Louis will send Buffalo their 2nd round pick and a conditional 5th round pick in the upcoming NHL Draft for Leopold. He is a 10 year NHL veteran, playing in 610 career games with the Flames, Avalanche, Panthers, Penguiins and Sabres. Blues GM Doug Armstrong said Leopold will step right in to the Blues defense and play alongside either Alex Pietrangelo or Kevin Shattenkirk.

The Blues also announced that they have sent down rookie goalie Jake Allen to their Peoria farm team and will recall Brian Elliott from Peoria after his two game conditioning ends tonight. So the Blues will go with their veteran goalies down the stretch of the season, going with Jaroslav Halak and Brian Elliott.
