Blues head coach Ken Hitchcock, talking after the team's 5-2 loss in Game 6 of the NHL Western Conference Final, thanked the St. Louis fans for making this season a wonderful memory. Hitchcock said his players embraced the fans as much as the fans embraced the Blues team. They advanced farther in the playoffs since the 2001 season. They lost their third round series four games to two to the San Jose Sharks this past weekend, finishing two wins shy of a trip to the Stanley Cup Final. The Blues have appeared in the Final series three times in their history, the first three years of their existence, 1968, 69 and 70. The Blues have yet to win a Stanley Cup, but hopefully next year, their 50th in the NHL will be the year to accomplish just that!
