The St. Louis Blues scored seven goals and won three fights en route to a 7-3 win over the Colorado Avalanche on Thursday night at Scottrade Center. The Avalanche came into the game with the best record in the NHL’s Central Division.

After a 1-1 first period, the Blues exploded for four goals and three fights in the second period to take a 5-1 lead. Alexander Steen continued his scoring touch with two more goals for a NHL best 16 goals on the season. T.J. Oshie recorded a career high four assists in the win.

The Blues now have a 12-2-3 record good for 27 points and second place in the Central Division.
