Screenshot_3ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) – The St. Louis Blues have signed defenseman Jay Bouwmeester to a five-year contract extension.

The 29-year-old native Canadian has played 635 games in a row.  That is the longest stretch of consecutive games played professional sports (NHL, NBA, MLB).  He also palyed in all six games against Los Angeles in the 2013 Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Bouwmeester has appeared in 11 seasons during his NHL career including stints with Florida, Calgary and St. Louis.   He has scored 307 points In 764 career games, plus 469 penalty minutes.
