Vladimir Tarasenko’s first period goal made it 1-0, but the Canadiens scores two goals in the second period and two more in the third to beat the Blues.

Giveaways and sloppy defense doomed the Blues. Kevin Shattenkirk’s bad giveaway led directly to dale Weise’s goal that tied the game at 1-1. Max Pacioretty’s goal on the breakaway gave Montreal the lead for good in the second period at 2-1.

The Blues have started off their four game road trip with consecutive losses to the Bruins and Canadiens. The trip continues with games Saturday afternoon in Ottawa and Sunday afternoon in Winnipeg.
