Ovechkin’s Hat Trick Sinks Blues, Capitals Win 4-3

Washington Capitals captain Alex Ovechkin was simply too much for the Blues on Wednesday night in the nation’s capital. Ovechkin scored his second consecutive hat trick against the Blues and led Washington to a 4-3 win. Vladimir Tarasenko scored twice for the Blues, but they fell behind 4-1, before scoring two late goals to make it interesting in the game’s final seconds. Alex Pietrangelo, the Blues captain also scored to but their Capitals lead to 4-2.

Carter Hutton got the start in goal for the Blues, stopping 21 of 25 shots, but took the loss. The Blues season record currently stands at 11-7-3, good for 25 points.
