Andrelton Simmons bases loaded double in the 8th inning was the only scoring play in the Braves 2-0 win over the Cardinals on Saturday in Atlanta. Joe Kelly started for the Cardinals and pitched his best game of the season, throwing six and a third scoreless innings. Randy Choate took the loss in relief of Kelly. Braves starting pitcher Julio Teheran pitched seven scoreless innings, allowing just two hits. Craig Kimbrel picked up his 30th save, retiring the Cards in order in the 9th inning.

The bright spot for the Cardinals in this game: the return of Matt Holliday. He was activated off the disabled list and had one of the two Redbirds hits, a 1st inning double.
