ST. LOUIS – The St. Louis Cardinals are making their way to Chicago for a Saturday double-header against the White Sox.

Assistant coach Willie McGee is not making the trip. The Cardinals Hall of Famer has opted out of the remainder of the Major League season due to COVID-19 concerns.

José Oquendo is taking McGee’s spot on the staff.

The Cardinals have only played five games so far in the COVID-shortened MLB season.
